About the Book

The Long Walk is a touching story of one man’s struggle to control his destiny and maintain his dignity after being diagnosed with dementia. Having watched his mother and his grandmother deteriorate from the same illness, he is unwilling to be another victim. Struggling with the certain knowledge of his future and his love for his family, will he let it happen or take matters into his own hands?

About the Author

Born, raised, and educated in Toledo, Ohio, Mr. Stechschulte has a BS degree in geology from Bowling Green State University. He has worked in many industries including construction, manufacturing, steel forging, petroleum geology, oil exploration, sales, and the temporary help industry. He is currently the co-owner of a business with offices in Provo, Ogden, and Salt Lake City, all in Utah. With his wife, Valerie, they recently built a home in the mountains of the southwest of Utah to pursue a more creative lifestyle. This is Mr. Stechschulte’s first published work.
