About the Author
Lieutenant Colonel George A. Larson, USAF (Ret.). He graduated from Iowa State University at Ames, Iowa in May 1969 with a Bachelor of Science in History. He earned a Masters of Arts in History from the University of Stanislaus at Turlock, California. Lt. Col. Larson served as a strategic intelligence officer with the Strategic Air Command, Defense Intelligence Agency, Pacific Air Forces, Alternate National Military Command Center as well as Commandant of Cadets with Air Training Command’s Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps at the University of Iowa. While in the Air Force he completed: Air Force Squadron Officers School, Air Command & Staff College, Air War College, Industrial College of the Armed Forces, Naval War College, Foreign Service Institute and many specialized military courses. He has written four books and over 300 magazine articles on military history, aviation, naval and general history. The information for this book is based on the Korean Air Power Symposium, sponsored by Headquarters, Pacific Air Forces in June, 2001, “Assessing the Korean War Bombing Campaign.” His next book will be A Seabee’s Story: The end of the war in the Pacific.
