About the Author

Nicholas A. Avallone Born in New Jersey in 1913 and raised in one of New York City's Italian neighborhoods, Nicholas Avallone lived in one of the most eventful centuries in history. A printer by trade, he wrote poetry all of his life. Upon retirement, he wrote a family history and later began to write short stories, essays and other pieces to present his view of the world, his ideas and ideals. His lifelong love, Rose Cosenza Avallone, died in 2007 and Nick followed her in December, 2008 at the age of 95.
