About the Author

Dr. Christensen has served as a pastor to troubled churches, a denominational staff member and a consultant and trainer for conflict resolution. He is a member of, and certified by, the Washington Mediation Association. He is trained in group facilitation. His conflict work began during the Civil Rights movement and has continued through cultural and church conflicts about war and peace, the rights and roles of women, and current issues about sexual orientation. He is committed to helping churches resolve their issues and restore their relationships. "Denominations and consultants can help, but the work ultimately must be done in and by the congregation," he says.
