About the Book

In My Own Words is about a mother who writes to her teenage daughter, on how to cope with the fact that she is no longer around. How to deal with life’s experiences. The good, the bad, and the ugly. She touches on subjects from how to live your life, men and relationships, the do’s and don’ts of life. She’s stern and holds nothing back. She wants to inspire her daughter to always do the right thing, no matter what life brings. She also hopes to inspire someone else who has lost a parent and left with no hope or directions.

About the Author

Joy Gambrell born and raised in Mt. Vernon, N.Y. Started writing at an early age. It was a life experience and losing people dear to her that brought upon writing as a healing to her soul. She now resides in Georgia with her family.

To my darling daughter, If you are reading this, it can only mean one thing. I am no longer around. There’s nothing that I could have said or done to prepare you for this. In My Own Words, this is my last lecture to you. There are no instructions that are given to prepare you for the lost of a parent. You must understand that we live our lives and someday God will call us home. I can’t tell you not to cry or grieve, but don’t be angry that I’m gone. Live, love, laugh and by all means have fun. Celebrate the fact that we had time together.

In My Own Words, from me to you. I hope this will bring you some comfort and guide you through life’s experiences. Lesson’s you need to learn. Sometimes you can make a good decision and still have a bad outcome. I want you to be prepared for the lesson’s that life brings. Hopefully, this will help you deal with certain situations. Understand that it is how we live and our decisions that we make that will dictate our circumstances. If I say it once, I’ve said it a million times. Always be a lady and respect yourself. Your not just worth a million, but a billion baby!
