About the Book

This collection of poems was written through many years by Janice Beezley Shirah, now a great grandmother. Each one has scriptures quoted and is based on teachings from the Bible. As the first line "comes" to her, she quickly lays aside what she is doing and writes, as the thought is developed. At the insistence of her children and friends, she decided to publish a book as a legacy for all her children and for any who would be inspired by it. The writings are of praise, and exhortations from the Bible, in poetic form. She takes no credit for them, but feels they are a reflection from the heart of God to speak to those who do not know Him, and to encourage His children who long to know Him more. Janice married Winton Shirah 60 years ago, and they reside outside Shreveport, Louisiana, on five acres in Keithville. Each of their three daughters has long been married to her spouse, creating a large family totaling 30 - 6 adult grandchildren (4 with spouses), and 12 great grandchildren. Janice has taught Ladies Bible Classes and Sunday School Classes for years. Now she is retired, as Broker/Owner of her Real Estate company in Shreveport. With more time to write, this book is the result. Her hope is that the reader, like she, experiences a deeper relationship with God by reading the poetry and meditating on the scriptures given, developing a clearer understanding of the gift of the grace of God.
