About the Author

VIJAY KUMAR earned his degree in Physical Therapy in 1989, post graduate diploma in Rehabilitation Medicine in 1991, Master of Science in Physical Therapy in 1993, PhD in Social Science in 2002 and his MD degree through Xavier University of Medicine in 2008. He is founder of and practicing clinician at multiple physical medicine and rehabilitation clinics in three different counties (Ogemaw, Roscommon and Iosco) of Michigan. He is a clinical instruction at Baker College through Allen Park and Flint at his clinics for Physical Therapy Assistants program. He is Credentialed Clinical Instructor certifi ed in 2010 for physical therapists and physical therapy assistant programs by American Physical Therapy Association. His clinical experience includes neurology, orthopedic, and ranges from pediatric to geriatric in his clinics. Dr. Kumar has been recognized by the governor of Michigan for his skills where in 2006 he was appointed by the governor and now serves on the Michigan Board of Physical Therapy and disciplinary subcommittee. He is currently attending school for his doctoral level degree in physical therapy through Boston University. He is a member of the Michigan Physical Therapy Association, American Physical Therapy Association as well as American Medical Association. He is very much involved in the local community events such as relay for life, Muscular Dystrophy, lions club etc. Dr. Kumar also likes to do the K runs in the area to support the community and promote good health. Removal of poverty in the rural areas continues to be one of the most important objectives in the country. In this context the study entitled “Integrated Rural Development Program and Its Impact on the Socio Economic Condition of the Rural Poor of Sitamarhi District” is of practical relevance today.
