About the Author

After a thirty-year career in management, human resources, and training and as owner of a lob placement business, Lee Savage decided to share all of his experiences with those who are unemployed or searching for the career of their dreams. Savage’s background includes general store manager, regional HR director, and recruiter with Sears; owner of Metro Personal Northwest; vice president of Training and HR with The Advisory Inc.; and author and director of Your Career Alternatives, his current Job Search Ministry. During this period, Lee developed a “job compatibility strategy” where he would formulate a job profile for the open job and compare those job requirements with his applicant’s profile. He still uses this concept today. Lee also developed his AIM (Attitude, Initiative, Motivation) philosophy to ensure his job seekers developed the right attitude prior to beginning their job search. Thus the title of this book, Aim for Jobs, captures all of his personal experiences in his current ministry: Your Career Alternatives. He offers a step-by-step road map of every job search strategy including getting over the hurt and disappointment, to developing a job search plan, to writing a dynamite cover letter and resume, to “networking the old-fashioned way,” to your final destination of preparing for the interview and accepting the job offer.
