About the Book

This story has not been written without buckets of tears and sorrow. It’s a heart-breaking story of love and betrayal, and of loss, almost too difficult to bear. It’s also a testament to the strength and determination of the human spirit and the ability to go forward without a vision of future, or hope of one. This is her story, pieced together from things we learned after her passing from her sisters, who felt we had the right to know the true story of our mom, and we’re so grateful for the their insight and honesty

About the Author

Linda MacKenzie-McInnis was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia. The eldest of four, she grew up accepting much responsibility at a very young age when her father passed away when she was not quite twelve years of age. She was a dreamer and often belittled on that issue from childhood on through adulthood. Undeterred she continued to pursue her dreams, including the writing of this book. Today her life is fi lled with family. Her five grandsons bring her joy and happiness and keep her very busy. Her belief has always been that you can have what you want; you just have to fi gure out how to get it. She considers herself to be lucky and fortunate even though life hasn’t always been easy.
