About the Book
All stories in this book are true, as are the animals, people and places real. • A Doberman Pincher that saved my daughters life, rescued myself from a cliff, kept her family out of trouble one dark night, went for help in a thunder storm and showed extreme intelligence all of her life. • Bum lambs with humorous personalities and a liking for rocking chairs, pick up rides and sitting in laps, never guessing that they were not human beings. • An unfixed skunk that wore doll clothes and was wheeled around in a doll buggy. A racoon that was the delight of the children preferred her corn buttered, turned a whole school upside down, along with a barn yard and much preferred the easy life to the wilds.
About the Author
I am Gail Issacson, 72 years old, and have trained horses and dogs since I was sixteen. I have mostly had Arabians, which I would buy as babies and then raise and train them and then sell them. I started out with Doberman Pinschers, of which Mickie was my first, then I went to Alaskan Malamutes, who are the clown of the dog world. Since my last Malamute I have had German Shepards, Labs, and Border Collie. My greatest ambitions was to train a dressage horse, which in later years I did finally accomplish. My last couple of horses were badly abused animals, which I reabilited into trustworthy saddle horses. I know live with my Border Collie, Star, residing in Ariz. where I originally grew up.
