About the Book

Based on historic fact, this novel follows the lives of people who are related in the most unlikely of ways, from their earliest beginnings until today. It is the story of natural catastrophe; of love, hate, murder and redemption. Through war and slavery, exploration and adventure; it is the story of the goodness of humanity and the cold, unfeeling evil of the sociopath. In the final analysis, it is our story, the story of us all, and how, often through serendipity, we are who we are today.

About the Author

Sherrell Michael Smith, Jr. was born in Clarksville Tennessee in 1946. He is a retired Police Commander (Lieutenant) with the Richmond Virginia Police Department. Married with two children and six grandchildren, he and his wife, Yvonne, like nothing more than traveling the world and time spent on their sailboat. Having published several short stories, this is his first novel.
