About the Book

I started this book in 1950s while in High School; wrote several poems and started some stories. Later in life I wrote more and have put together a collection of short stories, poems about family, life in general, trips and children’s poems and stories. I hope you will enjoy my thoughts of family, love, and country. Beverly Bolivar

About the Author

I was born in Bennington, Vermont, February 23, 1935, the only child of Hazel and William Wright. My father worked two jobs; a cigar and sporting goods store, also moving and storage business. My mother ran the house, taking care of me and answering telephone calls for dad’s business. She read a lot to me in my early years, and we both loved the nursery rhymes and poems in a big book, since lost. Mother wrote poetic prayers for her church and later for a ladies’ group. Her brother, my Uncle Leonard, also wrote poetry. Back further, my grandfather wrote and sang ballads. I have been writing some since 1951. Every year I write two or three stories or poems and have a pretty fair collection. Lately, I have tried writing children’s short stories and an autobiography. My family moved to Massachusetts in 1955 and later to Florida in 1972 where I raised three beautiful children, one girl and two boys. My daughter is married, and she and her husband, have three super boys . . . Both my boys are hard working but still single. The oldest boy lives in New Orleans and my youngest boy here, in Florida. My husband died in 1999, and I remarried in 2003 to a wonderful man, who has made me a snowbird. He has two children, one in New York., and one here in Florida. His home in upstate New York is really beautiful where I now spend my summers. I took my first course in poetry, at the library in New York in 2006. Since I retired, I have been writing more and more. I would like to dedicate this book to all my loving family; who inspired me and had confidence in my ability to write.
