About the Book

This book titled, Symbolic Rhythm: A Poetry Book is a continuation of my first book, Life Is A Story: A Collection Of Poetry. It is filled with a variety of themes, including love, spirituality, inspiration, and ethnicity. It gives the reader a look into my inner thoughts. The book gives a poetic interpretation of my personality. And it gives light to those who are in darkness. The purpose of the book is to give encouragement and inspiration to lovers of poetry and the spoken word. Poetry will always be something that takes a special person to really love. Either you enjoy it or you don’t. It’s just that simple. Poetry is a connection to the heart and soul. A person must dive into the innermost thoughts of the writer or “poet”. Instead of just reading the poetry, you must try to feel the emotions that come with it. This book is a reflection of all of my good and bad times.

About the Author

My name is Therza P. Cox. I was born and raised in Toledo, Ohio. I am an African American woman who graduated from Robert S. Rogers High School, June 9, 1999.

I have overcome many obstacles in my life, including prejudice, school bullying and mental illness. Having a diagnosis did not hold me back from enjoying my life. In fact, it gave me more awareness about how others may struggle. Regardless of whatever I go through, I have to put God in control.
