REMEMBER ME

About the Book

“Remember Me” is an autobiography of an officer’s experience during Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom where he served in an Ambulance Company. His story involves the urgency of a mobilization and the operations, fighting, and supporting a war. And most of all, the book is about soldiers, and remembering Sergeant Paul Nakamura who was a soldier in his unit that was Killed In Action. The book begins with the death of his own father who was a veteran of World War II and the dedication of Camp Nakamura in Iraq and ends with the emotional Memorial service of Sergeant Paul T. Nakamura. It is a celebration of victory, a tragedy in their loss, and a remembering of those who sacrificed. His story and his poems reflect powerfully the feelings of an American soldier.

About the Author

Robert Gray served as the XO for the 437th Medical Company (Ground Ambulance) during Operation Iraqi Freedom. He was deployed from January 2003 to February 2004. He currently serves as the commander of the 437th Medical Company. In his civilian life, he serves as a Nursing Home Administrator for PleasantCare Corporation. In prior employment, he has worked as an Administrator for a Veterans Home where he was appointed by the Governor of California. He is a direct descendant of a Revolutionary War veteran and a Civil War veteran. His grandfather was a veteran of World War I and his father was a veteran of World War II. He is a graduate of University California Santa Barbara where he graduated with a B.A. with a major in English. Robert Gray can be contacted personally at Rgwgray@aol.com
