About the Author

Born in Youngstown, Ohio. Received his B.A. from Mount Union College, Alliance Ohio; J.D., Youngstown State University; and M.Div., Augustana Theological Seminary (Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago). Westin is a member of both Ohio and Florida Bar Associations, and has served several churches as a minister in Ohio and Florida. His latest position, prior to retirement in June 2002, was Pastor of the Community Church of Lauderdale-By-The-Sea, Florida. Included among his activities, Westin served as Town Chaplain and in a similar capacity with the Volunteer Fire Department. Having had the benefit of violin lessons from age six, Howard has enjoyed the role music has played in his life. That and his love of golf, together with the vocational opportunities of the Law and Ministry, have made life purposeful. Married to Ann, they, with their children and grandchildren, continue to be involved in community and world concerns. In writing Love Letter to Humanity, Westin shares a passionate belief that the historical Jesus of Nazareth’s teachings represent the only Realistic Solution to World Peace.
