About the Book

The Deacon is a fictional mystery thriller, which involves twin brothers growing up in the church, dating in their youth and fighting in Vietnam. One brother becomes a priest while the other is missing in action. The one day they are reunited. The returning brother becomes a deacon at the same church as his brother, only both are to face new trials in their lives. An illegitimate child, guilt, blame, nightmares, hostility and frustration are plaguing their family. Years later a murder in the church enflames rumors and accusations until the murderer is revealed.


About the Author

F. S. Bailey was born Frances Steven Shehade in Washington D. C. in October 1952. Her parents, Helen a citizen of the United States and her father Joseph, an immigrant of Lebanon, owned a delicatessen in the District of Colombia, which Frances worked from the age of thirteen to twenty-one years of age. Later in 1970 she married Dennis Bailey of Logan, West Virginia and bore two children, a daughter, Amanda and a son, Jason whom together with a son-in-law, Kelly and three grandchildren share homes in Maryland. She is also an avid church parishioner and Charismatic member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.
