I Cry God! is the story of one survivor’s recovery from childhood emotional, physical, and sexual abuse, told in her own prose and poems. The book traces the progression of Jeanne’s healing journey. Each chapter concludes with her former therapist’s description of the cognitive and emotional tasks required for that particular step of the recovery process, including suggestions for helpful and specific strategies designed to facilitate change and growth. About the Author

I CRY GOD! Hope and Healing for Survivors of Childhood Abuse About the Author Jeanne Roberts was born in Toledo, Ohio, the second of three sisters. Her family settled in Oak Harbor, Ohio, where she attended what is now called the Benton-Carroll-Salem School District, graduating in 1957. She married Wes Roberts, a sixth-grade teacher, in 1984. Wes died from brain cancer in 2000, shortly after his retirement. Jeanne still resides in Oak Harbor. She lives next door to her son, Fred, and his wife, Sue. Jeanne has been writing poetry and songs since she was thirteen. She frequently shares her poems and songs to comfort and inspire others.
