About the Book

The Author takes you through her initial diagnosis; meeting with the Breast Surgeon when she was informed that both breasts needed to be removed. Dr. Nussbaum prepared Trudie for what he termed a “debilitating” process and one in which she would definitely lose all her hair, eyebrows, lashes; and possibly her teeth would loosen up due to the strong cancer drugs being administered. Author never fails to deliver some “humor” when dealing with all of these “brutal facts” (Tells her doctor that she felt like she was starring in the remake of “The Fly” Her two daughters, Michelle and Sharon stop at nothing to ensure Trudie’s spirits always remained “high” – whatever it took they were there to divert my thoughts and the two of them were truly a “team” (Even helped to plan daughters’s wedding that took place the final month of chemotherapy.

About the Author

Trudie’s Dad was a major influence and was always used as an example when she viewed the world and the people in it. His personality could never be equaled. Her adoration for her Father began in herchildhood. Dad was once quoted as saying he would turn down any position where he would not be able to spend every evening with his children. Money was secondary, we were the important parts of his life and he let us know it. Love was openly discussed Daddy worked with his family in a one of the largest Appliance/Stereo/TV/Records Distributors in the Philadelphia Area. There were four (4) record booths to allow customers to play their music before it was purchased. It was at this very store that my sister and I viewed television in its infancy., the Milton Berle Comedy Hour. This was also the very place where I developed my love and appreciation for music. So many entertainers of the day visited our store before their records were released. I even saw Elvis Presely in l956 – quite an experience. Also Trudie observed how easy going and humorous her Father was in dealing with customers. He got along with everyone regardless of their social status, sex. Dad truly loved people and everyone felt very comfortable in his presence. To me – he was :My Hero
