About the Book

As Sharon sat alone on the school bus one wish kept entering her mind; that she would have as many friends as all the other pretty and popular girls in the fourth grade. Based on a true-life story, Sharon soon discovers that real friendship is more than skin deep. This story of dreams, differences, and self-awareness will help children understand their own personal value. “Thank you for teaching me about life.” Kimberly, 3rd grade. “Thanks to you I can overcome my fears.” Adam, 5th grade. “Your story will hopefully stay with them for life, and help them become better people. Janine, Teacher

About the Author

Jim Nunes has an M.A. in Education and has been an elementary school teacher for over 10 years. He has traveled throughout the U.S. as a motivational speaker for youth. Jim’s friendship with Sharon Sacks became the inspiration for the “Tools for Success” program and the DisAbility Awareness Foundation, which he co-founded with Sharon. Jim hopes that the messages of those with “Different Abilities” will be an inspiration to all of us to make the most of our own potential, and to treat all people with tolerance, respect and value. Jim would like to thank his family, friends, and all the dedicated people behind the DAF organization for all of their support.
