About the Book

They are aware of us, but few of us are aware of them. They think we’re hilarious, except when we create our own tragedies. Then they think of us as pathetic and backward. When I first met them, I thought they were weird, possibly insane. Then I fell in love with one of them. That, and sheer curiosity made me stay. I’m glad I did, because it soon became apparent that I was weirder and more insane than I had thought they were. This story is designed to be short on fact and long on truth. May it be so! About the Author

G. M. Bearheart is not so much a pseudonym as a Native American name given to a white man upon his adoption by a Native American family. This man has been a reporter, photographer, teacher, business executive, pilot, consultant, intelligence agent, and conservationist, not necessarily in that order. He is now retired and lives with his wife close by a river in the Green Mountains of Vermont.
