About the Book
The book explores the actions of insects in experiments which can be carried out by students of junior and high school age along with a biology instructor. Experiments with live insects include walking patterns, flying at different temperatures, swimming and reaction to sound, sounds produced by crickets, sensitivity to odors, food attraction in ants, and water and sugar reception by bees. Collection and rearing insects is presented as well as sources to obtain insects, especially as related to critical experiments.
