About the Author
Bryan Alexander lived on the streets when he was sixteen, sleeping in vacant warehouses, bus depots, store-fronts, or back alleys, covering himself with rags or cardboard boxes that separated him from the cold, and from hostile eyes. He survived, with street-learned wit, then turning this knowledge to tone the tale down with humorous recollections, coating those mad moments of terror and desperation. The characters popped out of the back roads of his mind to live again in this book---they knock, will you please open the door---just a little?
