About the Book

The text of Take Off Your Shoes should be of great interest to everyone who is spiritually inclined. The book clearly shows the importance of the fundamental morality in each religion and, using quotations from each religion, outlines a commonality of values that all the major religions share. The text is also a rich source (one author/professor calls it a “gold mine”) of references for spiritual and religious writers, speakers, teachers and students. Each chapter addresses a specific topic, including subjects such as “Conscious Awareness,” “The First Will Be Last,” “self-Self,” “God Within,” Silence,” and “Time and Space,” and each chapter has an introduction to its topic. Endnotes to each chapter, a bibliography and a complete glossary/dictionary are included to assist the reader in understanding the foreign names and terms not commonly used by western readers today. Designed to confirm for the readers that God is One, this book takes you back to the early beginnings of each religion. It uses quotes from many of the early writings as well as quotes from current adepts, revealing the similarity of precepts embraced by the major religions. It affirms for the readers that there is a valuable and common morality throughout the world’s major relilgions. While there are those in each faith that battle over the exclusive righteousness of their own religion, millions of people of faith lead quiet lives of tolerance and understanding, realizing that the God who is worshipped by all wants us all to love our neighbors and Live in peace. This book is a testimony to that fact.
