About the Book

This autobiography is an account of Lee Gibbs’ ranch/farm life, or events relating to his story, as he honestly remembers them, or as he remembers them being told to him, and all of them are a part of his life-experience. The book contains lots of pictures relevant to the story and detailed facts about: his family and schooldays; his wife, children and grandchildren; Montana weather; Montana ranching and farming; interesting people he’s known; and the comical things he remembers, are dispersed throughout the book to add humor.

About the Author

Lee Gibbs worked the past 75 years of his life as a rancher and farmer. He is now 80 years young, but started helping his dad on the home ranch, near Jordan, Montana when he was only five years old. He was born in Miles City, Montana, and is still active on his ranch 25 miles south of Glendive, Montana, as are two of his sons. He helps out with the irrigating, riding, mending fences and, of course, digging postholes, which he says is “good therapy for whatever ails you.” His wife R’Delle of 46 year’s, was his constant companion, and also his business partner in the operation of the ranch. She did all the taxes, bookkeeping, paid the bills, and monitored the profit and cost- effectiveness of the ranch operation. Above all, she raised four boys to help him on the ranch.
