About The Author Yvonne Elmira Woodson Bridgeforth is an academic teacher at Buckingham Correctional Center in Dillwyn, Virginia. She has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Social Science from ST. Paul’s College in Lawrenceville, Virginia. She has earned her Master’s Degree in Education from Virginia State University. Yvonne has studied at the University of Virginia and James Madison University. Other academia includes a term as adjunct professor at Longwood University. Yvonne will receive her Masters of Theology from the Union of Theology in Richmond, VA in the fall of 2004. Mrs. Bridgeforth is a life-long member of Saint Matthew’s Baptist Church in Kenbridge, Virginia. She finds it a privilege to serve her church as president of the Deaconess Ministry as well as being the Secretary of the Senior Usher Board. Frequently asked to speak on the church circuit and Black History events, Yvonne still manages to find time to enjoy her hobbies of reading and writing poetry and short stories. She currently resides in Kenbridge, VA with her husband, Raleigh. These collected works reflect the realities of life, revealing rural emotion where the simple life can be as fresh as a cool drink of water and at other times fetch you in the deepest depths of pain. Written from the soul, this collection of poems will mystify your heart and your tears of joy and sadness flow as one.
