About the Book

Scuttlebutt is the back alley survivor who has squandered eight of his nine lives on riotous globe-trotting and now has no intention of blowing his last one. He knows his way around- all the angles- how to ingratiate himself and manipulate situations. His big weakness is his big heart. Though pursued by the Shore Police (for jumping ship) he manages to coach his dog friends (a Poodle, an illegal immigrant Mexican Chihuahua, and a Bullmastiff) to win “Best of Show” at Westminster, and incidentally learn to be all they can be.

About the Author

The author, Penelope Parr, has achieved certain insider knowledge of the “Dog World” by accompanying her son, Stevens Parr, owner of the Australian Shepherd Gotham Kennel, to many shows around the country. At the same time she has shared a friendship with her daughter Julia’s many extraordinary cats- Tom, Calador, and Andy Pandy.
