About the Author

Marie Therese Emery is a retired staff member who taught Driver Education and Computer technology at Michigan State University. She has an associate degree in business administration from the Lansing Community College, a B. A. in Social Sciences from Siena Heights University, and a Ph. D. in secondary administration from Michigan State University. She has certification in Driver Education and taught it for nine years at Michigan State University and Siena Heights University. She taught computer technology for 15 years at Michigan State University. She authored and directed the Fleet Safety Program for the State of Michigan a federally funded project which she developed to make safer drivers out of state employees who drove state cars. She completed this grant in three years and the state drivers showed great improvement in their driving skills. She belongs to the International Women’s Pilot Association ( she flies a Cessna 174, a Comanchee, and Cherokee Warrior); and 99’s (Founded by Amelia Earhart). She was regional Director for AARP in Michigan, she is a Red Cross first aid instructor, was educational consultant for the Motorcycle Safety Foundation, Washington, D.C. and chairperson for seven years for the Ford Consumer Protection Council. She was also nominated for the Freedom Foundation Medal. Doctor Marie Therese Emery has written several books, CD’s and computer programs. She has taught over 4000 students from first grade through graduate college level. She had tutored over 300 senior citizens in computer usage. She loves to meditate on God’s goodness to His people, read mystery books, swim, ride a motorcycle and fly airplanes. She celebrates her 60th year as a Dominican sister in 2006.
