About the Author

Fulani Batts was born on October 2, 1978 in Buffalo, NY to Dearest Batts. She was raised in an housing complex and attended private schools most of her life. Fulani picked up the hobbies of drawing and writing at the age of nine. By the time she reached high school, poetry really began to stick with her. She credits an English teacher, Mr. Mattimore for helping her find the right style for her poem called, “Open Hands.” Fulani continues to expand her collection of literary works, including novels, short stories, and lyrics. She is currently a member of Just Buffalo, a literary center where she lives and would like to get involved in screenwriting.
