Acrostic Preaching for Effective Teaching

About the Book

Acrostic teaching is not new to the world of education. However, you will notice this treatise is unique in that every letter of the word is used to form a true acrostic. This method of composition makes learning and comprehension gratifying. As you approach Bible study and sermon preparation, you will discover memorization and retention will improve. With the aid of the Holy Spirit, I delivered many of these outlines to congregations and seminary students for effective preaching and teaching. They are scripture-based and doctrinally sound.

Subject: Together We Build Scripture: Neh. 2 Speculate: Believers United In Laboring Diligently (BUILD) Solution: Grace-giving glorifies God. Nowhere is interdependence expressed than when people join as a team to achieve goals. There are five essentials to build:

There must be Belief (Belief begets Blessing)

There must be Unity (Unity utilizes Usefulness)

There must be Investments (Investments indicate Interest)

There must be Leadership (Leadership loves Learning)

There must be Determination (Determination demonstrates Devotion)

Summary: Let us rise up and build . . . the people had a mind to work.

Joseph J. Thompson, ThD, pastors the El Shaddai Baptist Church in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. A graduate of Jameson Bible College and Manna Bible Institute and International Seminary, Dr. Thompson also teaches biblical hermeneutics and homiletics at Suburban Bible Institute in Roslyn, Pennsylvania. Dr. Thompson also organized and began a Christian development center that encourages laypersons in Bible training and ministers in seminary preparation.
