About the Book

The office of the apostle has been very much misunderstood in modern times. Many of those who actually carry the office of the apostle call themselves “pastor.” This is done for a number of reasons. To start, society has glamorized the office of the pastor to a degree. The role of the pastor has been taught to be all encompassing, meaning that the pastor can operate in all the roles of the fivefold ministry. This should not be. The role of the pastor is to take care of the needs of the congregation. It is the apostle who is able to act as any member of the fivefold ministry when necessary. However, this apostolic position should not be glamorized, since with more anointing and more power comes more responsibility and more work. Another reason many apostles call themselves pastor is that, for many years, the office of the pastor has been the only office that has been talked about at all. If a person felt a call on his life to minister the gospel of Jesus Christ, he would immediately start a church and call himself a pastor. However, the most common reason many apostles call themselves pastor is because of the lack of teaching on this most important subject. I hope that this manual will bring understanding to what the office of the apostle is and how he or she should operate. In this book, we’ll look at some of the apostles of the Bible. We also will review some writings that will assist the apostle to go higher in his calling. In addition, we will look at some scriptures that are essential to pray for the release of apostolic people into their destinies. Through reading this book, many who have been comfortable with calling themselves one of the other fivefold ascension gifts found in Ephesians 4:11 will discover that they are, in fact, members of a group called apostles.
