John Elliott Thomas was born December 12, 1994 in Birmingham, Alabama to Shannon and Virginia Thomas. John attends W.J. Christian elementary school. John hobbies are playing basketball, baseball, football reading and going fishing. John also loves music; he plays the drums in his church. John also has been taking piano lesson for the last three years. John is on the newspaper committee for WJ Christian, the school band where he is learning to play the saxophone. John performs with his school choir at the Birmingham All City Music Festival. When John was seven years old he and his father recorded a CD “There is nothing wrong with the Church” that is available at cdbaby.com and AOL music.com In February of 2005 John was chosen by his reading teacher Ms. Warren to participate in the young author project and represent the fourth grade for his school. This is when he decided to write “That Fishie Feeling”. That fishie feeling is a story about a family fishing trip. You can feel the excitement and the anticipation of the family. This story will give the readers flash backs of their family life. It will promote family unity and quality time. John would like to thank his mother who is serving over seas in the military Virginia, and his father Shannon Thomas who is also in the military. John would also like to thank Ms. Warren his reading teacher Mrs. Crook the librarian, Mr. Davis the principal, Mrs. Whitmier his home room teacher, his bothers Dave and Carlos (TJ), his sister Genille and his next door neighbor Lauren Hines.
