About the Book
Lawsuits tried in Tunica County, Mississippi form the skeleton for this book, telling about historical events in the past and fleshed out with biographical sketches of early citizens of this Delta Country, a Country formed and still heavily influenced by the Mississippi River, and a Country that has metamorphosed from one of the poorest in the Nation to, with the advent of casinos, one of the richest. The reader will find the bad and the sad counterbalanced with the happy and amusing, all laced with the philosophical and the evident affection of the author for his community.
About the Author
Except for his military service in WWII and college years, the author is a life-long resident of Tunica County, Mississippi, practicing law there since 1951, with his father, then his brother. He graduated from the University of Mississippi Law School with distinction and was editor of the Mississippi Law Journal. The nature of his long, general and varied law practice and representation of this Country for nearly forty years brought him in almost daily contact with County records supplying information for his book. He and Dorothy, his wife of fifty-four years, have five children and scattered from South Carolina to Arizona.
