About the Author

About the Author Regina Long Southall was born on September 5, 1948 in Portsmouth, Virginia. She received her early education at George Peabody and Douglass Park Elementary Schools. Her junior high educational experience was at S.H. Clarke Junior High School. Regina is a 1966 graduate of I. C. Norcom High School, where she was a member of the “Marching Greyhounds Band”. She is a 1970 graduate of Norfolk State College where she majored in elementary education. While in college she also played in the marching and symphonic bands. A Master of Education degree was received from Regent University in a ten month period. Regina worked in the Suffolk and Portsmouth City Public School Systems, respectively. A total of 32.8 years of service were rendered to the development of young minds towards becoming successful achievers. Regina retired from teaching in 2004. Her dream is to now become the successful writer of poetry and children’s books that she has always dreamed to be.
