About the Book
Animals have been known to have come to the rescue of people many times. Follow the charming tale of an amazing duck -- and his equally amazing rescue -- in the picture book, Snowball: The Amazing Duck! co-authored by a father and son, Donald and Garrett Burnell. The book is based on the story of a white duck fed by the Burnell family after the duck showed up one summer on their neighborhood lake. The duck turns out to be quite remarkable when, while swimming, he saves a girl who almost drowns in the lake and leads her to safety. Snowball is a real duck that the father and his son befriended a few years ago, and the inspiration for this delightful story. Writing this book has been a marvelous experience for this father-son duo. The father took this opportunity to reinforce a critical life lesson to his son. That is HAVING THE COURAGE TO DO THE RIGHT THING BECAUSE IT IS RIGHT! This wonderful picture book is a great read for kids as it teaches them about bravery and develops their sense of imagination. Donald and Garrett were inspired to write this book as a result of their having bonded with Snowball who they love dearly.
