Jean Charlot Charles, M.D., was born in Haiti and subsequently he became a citizen of the United States. He received his medical degree in his native country and then he achieved his residency training in the U.S. He also graduated from Ethnology School in Haiti. Moreover he received an American Sociology Study Certificate. He has published several poems in French.
