About the Book

This book is a collection of manipulative materials from A to Z. The purpose of this book is to provide activities that make sense to diverse learners and learning experiences that are fun for beginner or struggling readers. The activities in this book focus on phonological awareness skills, letters/sound recognition and writing, as well as spelling practice, and reading sight words. In addition, a collection of selected nouns is included to enhance vocabulary and comprehension, including synonyms, antonyms, homophone, and compound words. I personally developed over the years the activities included in this book to help teachers and parents enhance the children’s learning process. The activities in this book assist parents in helping their children at home to improve oral reading fluency. Furthermore, the drawings in this book allow the children to understand each word through picture recognition. Lastly, this book is a result of my 12 years of teaching experience and knowledge of improving academic achievement. This book is a good learning resource to have in the classroom, to support cooperative learning concept for small group instruction, partner learning, and individual or independent learning at the centers. In addition, parents can benefit from this book by working with their own children at home. Children can also have centers at home to enjoy their moments and have fun learning together, with their parents, siblings, and relatives. Finally, this book is relevant and useful in any place for all types of learners. I am confident that this book will be an effective reading resource for beginner readers or as intervention materials for struggling readers.
