About the Book
This is a story based upon my actual experience amidst the frantic rush to transform the country of Saudi Arabia from a way of life that had hardly changed since Biblical times, into the high-tech modern world approaching the twenty-first century. Fearful that even newer technology might close their “window of opportunity” at any time, the Saudi Royal Family sought to develop their country further and faster than any other society known to humankind, and the rest of the world was largely kept in the dark about it. This is a series of related short stories based upon actual experiences I had as a young American professional working there from 1982 to 1988.
