About the Author
I was one of possibly as many as ten Board-Certified Urological surgeons in the United States who also could claim a formal legal education, (the J.D. after the M.D. name), and was willing to exercise that expertise in Court concerning the validity of malpractice claim, pro or con as the medical facts of the case would dictate. Demand for such testimony was high for both plaintiff and defendant. Thirty years experience as chief of the Urological Department in a major medical group plus personally having done over eleven thousand surgical procedures gave solid foundation for that “Expert Witness” designation. Though most significant malpractice cases reach appropriate settlement prior to trial, all those in which I actually appeared in Court were resolved in favor of the client for whom I testified. When I left the Courts, it was nice to have a one-hundred percent record!
