About the Book

After being named Miss Italy in the nationwide beauty contest, Nina Tanti, a gorgeous teenager, from Milan, Italy is raped in the office of the head of state in Rome when going there to receive the award. She vows to kill her rapist. Her problem is that he is always surrounded by guards, and he lives in Rome and she in Milan - 389 miles away. As the years fly by, she never forgets her vow and always looks for the day when he lets his guard down and visits her area.

During her turbulent and exciting years at college during which she solves a murder, like all young women in Italy, she began dating Germans since the Italian Government, joining with Hitler against the Allies in World War II, had sent away all the young men either to fight or to work in German factories. Since she and her girlfriend, Rosina Sorenti, came from socially prominent and affluent families, it wasn’t long before they both began dating German Officers.

Nina meets and falls in love with a handsome German Colonel who speaks fluent Italian, English and German. As the months fly by during which they had became lovers, her womanly intuition reveals to her that there is a deep secret he is hiding from her and everyone else. She finally concludes that he is an American spy and is shocked when she learns he is the bastard of one of the most famous men who are determining the outcome of the war. Finally, the day comes when her rapist is banished to Northern Italy and she seeks ways to carry out her vows and not lose her lover in doing so.
