About the Book
Pre-Resurrection INQUIRY II© and Beyond to the DAY of PENTECOST© Come and follow the footsteps of Jesus from the day we call Palm Sunday to and through His crucifixion, His resurrection, His forty days (twelve appearances), His ascension and to the founding of His church on the day of Pentecost. Chapter II, approximately two thirds of the manuscript, will be your guide in a harmonized paraphrased verse by verse interpretation of the four Gospels using Jewish days and dates. Pre-Resurrection Inquiry II presents Holy Week, the days we call Palm Sunday to Resurrection Sunday. Beyond to the Day of Pentecost presents Resurrection Day to the day of Pentecost with appearances of Jesus becoming primary and calendar dates secondary. Chapter I, Mini “Inquiry II”, explains the importance of Holy Week which is approximately one third of the four Gospels. Why did it take more than one day for Jesus to travel from Jericho to Jerusalem for His Triumphant Entry? Why was Jesus’ trial by Pilate and His crucifixion on two different days? Chapter III justifies each date/day of His daily walk in Chapter II. Chapter IV is a Daily Chronicle correlating Jewish days to our weekdays. Chapter VII contains Daily Chronicle Calendars for the Jewish months of Nisan/Abib the 1st month, Zif the 2nd month and Sivan the 3rd month; Jesus’ arrival from Jericho in Bethany to the day of Pentecost. In the beginning, Pre-Resurrection Inquiry II was not intended to be publish as a book. It was a search of scriptures (purposely without using commentaries) to determine the day of our Lord’s crucifixion. The original purpose never changed. Added to the original purpose was the undertaking that resulted in the harmonizing of the four Gospels by day/date in Chapter II. Chapter II was added in biblical format to be both a study and teaching guide giving the reader a chronicle of events by day/date in the life of Jesus for that very short period of time we call Holy Week. The first page of the Introduction contains the following statement, “Inasmuch as this undertaking is a paraphrased rendition of scripture (not a translation but the authors interpretation), the reader’s word for word translation of choice should always be consulted for scriptural accuracy.” Chapter II is the most important chapter of the book where no scripture verse is intentionally omitted or not referenced. We walk with Jesus when He leaves Jericho, when He arrives in Bethany, when He is crucified and when He is resurrected. Scripture is aligned by date letting events locate themselves into whatever date they might fall. Pre-Resurrection Inquiry II was written to encourage the study of that very short one (perhaps more) week(s) in our Redeemer’s life which contains almost one third of all the verses written by Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. The search continues with Beyond to the Day of Pentecost which unfolds the 12 appearances of Jesus during the 40 days from His resurrection to His ascension, to the Day of Pentecost and the creation of His church.
