About the Book

Throughout life one encounters a variety of circumstances, each of us responding in our own way, each filled with their own emotions and feelings, a reflection of one’s life at the moment. These feelings and emotions are given voice in many guises, in the secrets of the heart, or expressed as joy and sadness, or happiness and despair. It is these feelings and more, set against the landscape of the Pacific Northwest and Rocky Mountains, which have been captured in that which has been written. Words set to the melody of a song seem to enhance their meaning. Each by themselves conveying some feeling but, together they become a choreographed dance with each enhancing the other and in so doing evoking a response which may reveal a deeper understanding or hidden feelings, thus providing more meaning to that which is heard. It is in this same vain that the stories, poems, and photographs have been weaved together in hopes that the image created, in some way, causes one to reflect upon some of the feelings and emotions of one’s own, like experiences, evoking the emergence of a memory left unspoken, and a knowing and understanding, and in that moment, striking a chord with the messages of “Where Does The Heart Go”.

About the Author

Life has been kind. Not because it has been easy but rather because it has provided opportunity; opportunity to entertain a wide array of experiences; to learn from their having come my way and to be granted a peak at their wisdom. But I was not always the lone player, indeed at times I was just an observer, yet even in this, a participant; being given a stage to observe that which was unfolding; with each act an answer or perhaps a continuing mystery for my wondering, inquisitive mind; learning, nothing is lost. There is a reason, though it may be long in coming. Often in wandering through the majesty of the Rocky Mountains the wisdom of that which was given was unveiled and written while sitting on a mountain side. Here there is the peace to listen to that which is. And for this I have been grateful.
