About the Author

Author bio Marjorie Nichols is a retired teacher of intellectually challenged children and an elementary and middle school guidance counselor. She is the mother of five grown children and lives with her husband Jeffrey in a wooded, hilltop home they built themselves. The first book followed a request by seven year old granddaughter Zoë, during a Grammie Night, “Could we write a story together?” “How Grampie Lost His Hair” was the result. The author hopes this work will inspire other grandparents to read and create stories with their grandchildren. Artist bio Sandy Crabtree has a B.F.A. in painting from Arcadia University in Pennsylvania and makes her book illustration debut with “How Grampie Lost His Hair”. Her distinctive watercolor images share her love of the natural world and strive to impart the peace and solitude that those subjects provide. The playfulness of a child’s imagination and the idea of the interaction between humans and birds provided a rich tapestry of images for the art work. She lives in Bath, Maine with her husband Richard, both avid birth watchers. Her artwork is in many private corporate collections. She recently retired from teaching art at Morse High School after twenty eight years.
