Introduction This version of the Key to English Grammar© based on the first edition published in 1983; presents the translations into Spanish of Chapter I-Phonetic analysis, and Chapter II- Structural analysis of words. Read the Appendix for translations of vocabulary and Verbs. Chapter I- Phonetic Analysis is focused for beginners of the English Language. It contains the rules of the sounds of letters, the spelling of words; the tonic accent, used in English to differentiate function words (English has no accent mark); and diphthongs, which help understand the pronunciation of words. Chapter II- Structural Analysis presents the most common foreign roots; the prefixes and suffixes, and an appendix of vocabulary and verbs (Orthography). Chapter III- Syntax Construction introduces the parts of speech: Verbs, adverbs, nouns and adjectives are called vocabulary words, because they make up more than 99% of all the words listed in the dictionary. Articles, prepositions, conjunctions, interjections and pronouns, are called function words; though small in number, are important because they are used over and over in speaking and writing. Introducción Esta versión de “La Clave de la Gramática Inglesa©, basada en la primera edición publicada en 1983; presenta la traducción al español de los Capítulo I-Análisis Fonético, y Capítulo II-Análisis Estructural de las palabras. Lea el Apéndice para traducción de Vocablos y Verbos. Capítulo I-Análisis Fonético esta dirigido a principiantes del Idioma Inglés. Contiene las reglas de los sonidos y el deletreo de las palabras; el acento tónico, que se usa en inglés solo para diferencias que parte es una palabra en la oración. (No se usan tildes en inglés); y los diptongos, que ayudan a entender la pronunciación de las palabras. Capítulo II- Análisis Estructural presenta las raíces extranjeras más comunes, los prefijos y sufijos; y un apéndice con palabras y verbos (Ortografía). Capítulo III- Construcción Sintáctica, introduce las partes de la oración: Los verbos, nombres, adjetivos y adverbios, denominados vocablos, porque conforman el 99% de las palabras contenidas en el diccionario. Los artículos, conjunciones e interjecciones, los pronombres y preposiciones, denominados palabras funciones; que a pesar son la minoría, son muy importantes por su uso constante al hablar y escribir.
