About the Book
When my grandson Trevor was nearly 7 his family came for a visit. In the course of the evening, Trevor asked his father one of those ‘important questions’. We all struggled for an answer. After much thought, I went to my desk and started writing. This book is the result. It presents two main precepts. First that they, the children are good persons and how they can be sure it is true. Second, we urge them to be their own best friend. By doing so, they will achieve the stability and resilience that will assist them in their lives. They will also come to understand why people act the way they do. Based on the words of Genesis 1:31 it can be seen as an “In the Beginning” book. All cultures have one as a contribution in understanding life, creation and our part in it. I see it as a tool to help parents help their children understand themselves as creators of their life.
About the Author
Born in the beautiful but frigid North, I followed my dream and went to live in the subtropics of Florida. There I married and birthed three girls. The tropics of South America called to us where I birthed three boys. We then moved to the Great Northwest where a son was born. When they were all grown and had lives of their own, I moved to a small town in Washington to attend the Ancient School of Wisdom where Ramtha is the teacher. Here I have written my memoirs of that time in the tropics and have called it OUR 5 YEARS IN VENEZUELA. When not writing, I immerse myself in the art of pressed flowers and call them DESIGNS OF THE SPIRIT. The many grandchildren who have graced my life are the recipients of the cards and pictures I make.
