About the Author

Cisley Pearlina Stewart, born Jamaica, West Indies, immigrated to the United States of America 1959, and “came of age” in the dynamic ‘60’s. Her higher education’s first stop was A & T College, Greensboro, in a then racially-segregated South. She earned undergraduate and graduate degree from The City University of New York (City College), Columbia University (Teachers College) and a Ph.D., Education from Walden University, Minneapolis. While studying she taught youths and adults in several NYC Board of Education programs, and worked at the United Nations Secretariat. The pioneering Academic Director for The Department of Academic Skills/S.E.E.K., Hunter College/CUNY, she initiated its comprehensive innovative support curriculum for entering under-prepared students. Honoring her “give-back” vow, she returned to Jamaica, working in adult literacy and later becoming immersed in word by a dynamic CORE CURRICULUM/Ministry of Education team initiating a relevant comprehensive innovative Jamaican/Caribbean curriculum to de-emphasize the former British one. Intensified spiritual and personal transformation issues and needs propelled her to Unity Ministrial School, Unity Village, Missouri. Ordained in 1982, she served as a full-time minister before moving to Eastern Suffolk County, Long Island. Here is pioneering CHRIST UNITY TEMPLE, Patchogue. Ever passionate about “A Better Future and Youths,” she’s a full professor at Suffolk County Community College, and is listed in The Dictionary of American Scholars, 10th edition. A vital sixty-something, she single parented two sons now adults; and is a proud grandmother. She remains enthused about living, caring, sharing and serving!
