About the Author
Karen Bierman is a 30-year resident of South East Alaska, where she lives on a remote island with her husband Rick, two cats, and their border collie. Together with their son Jessey, they built, own, and operate the Whale’s Eye Lodge. She grew up one of eight children in a career Navy family that traveled extensively throughout the US. Through her experiences she acquired a love for the out of doors and the desire to sit still. Numerous, long, dark, Alaskan winters, isolated in the wilderness have driven her to write. Some say, she has missed too many boats.
