About the Book

In Journey For A Blue Horse, Riley Schiller survives his dysfunctional childhood by yearning to be the hero his grandfather encouraged him to be—a person someone might read about in books. But just as Riley begins to have the life he thought he always wanted, he finds himself engulfed in emptiness. The sudden loss of his job, his rocky marriage, and his constant self-doubt send him journeying as far away as Ireland, and deep inside himself, in quest of what has eluded him for so long. Riley must ultimately confront the choices he needs to make. Still groggy from a night of drinking, he slowly concluded this was not America, this was not his house, and this was certainly not his wife. Rubbing his eyes to better see through his confusion, the previous night began to make itself known. A dance, too much to drink, an attractive brunette, and loneliness constituted the important pieces of this puzzle. The woman lying next to him, Mary, he now recalled, retrieved him from the ladies’ room where he had wandered unwittingly. He also recalled hearing the word “haunted” whenever she looked at him, although he could not be sure what in his face prompted her remark. And he remembered how she listened and laughed at the gibberish he thought so profound. But soon he could not be sure he recollected any of it correctly. However, he did know for a fact he wanted to leave immediately.
