Darcy Maness, a mother of three and grandmother to seven granddaughters, resides in Florida with her Husband, Brian, and her eldest granddaughter, Jordan. A native of Iowa, she moved to Central Florida twenty years ago to try to escape her roots, only to finally find the words to write about her life in the small town of Fairport, Iowa. Although this is a short story, she is now working on a novel depicting Veda, her Menthol Kools smoking mother, and her escape from mental abuse from both Veda and her alcoholic ex-husband. Her story reveals the temporary loss of her three children and her courageous reuniting of them two years later. The saga has been in the literary making for six years, and with the support of her husband and the permission from her son, Doug, it will finally be released for all to read.
