Dominic “Dom” Fortugno and Dave Green had two things in common long before they met. One was their contacts with the Mafia and the other was the bar business. Dom, a native New Yorker, operated Dom’s Corner Bar in Long Island City, New York during the 1970s and 1980s. This was when he brushed shoulders with the Gambino Mafia family. Dave Green, a Florida cop, during the same time period, worked undercover and infiltrated the Gambino Mafia family. During one of Dave’s two year investigations, he operated an undercover cocktail lounge to “sting” the mob. They compared notes to write this book.
