About the Book

About the Author

David Henry Wyant, M.Ed. was born in Rogers City, Michigan, just 90 miles directly east of Petoskey, along Lake Huron. He graduated with honors from RCHS in 1959 during a time when most young Americans strongly felt the need to do what they could to beat Russia into outer space. At seventeen, he drew rocket plans for NASA. He enjoys visits with daughter, Lisa Luebke (wife of Randall), five grandchildren and one great grandchild who all live nearby in Boyne City, Michigan. Inspired by the seasonal drama of Petoskey’s ever changing natural beauty, Art teacher, Wyant, shows us how to paint with words. Experiencing this body of work strikes a colorful chord on many levels including some of our deepest spiritual aspects. Never dry nor pedantic, many vibrant, deeply personal passages are delivered with a special charm and whimsy. David’s rhythms are as fluid as the Bear River which flows next to his apartment. He translates the flow of our natural world into one’s deeply personal history. Timely brassy phrasings reveal his intimate understanding of symphonic music as an outstanding trumpet player in high school and college. Experiencing Petoskey will never be the same after you read, “My Petoskey ‘Stones”. His first book is “A compilation of Poems.” Mr.Wyant is available for readings of his unique poetry.
